They are denying my warranty claim after I had a brand new engine blow up after running for 5 seconds. I had to take it to my local dealer that sent them photos and they claim that from the photos they can tell that it was ran without oil, I put the oil in the motor myself and followed all the instructions to a T. And today when I picked up my engine disassembled in a box everything was still Covered in oil. I bought the exact same mower with same motor the day this one blew up because I have a business to run and that one runs like a dream and I followed the same instructions. These guys will make up stories to avoid honoring a warranty. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING POWERED BY BRIGGS, THEY WILL NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG.
I purchased a Power Washer with Briggs and Stratton engine and after using it 3 times in less than 6 months the pump went bad and the machine lost pressure. I contacted the warranty department and the first repair shop they referred me to refused to even take the machine stating “they don’t pay”. I was then referred to another repair shop who did take the machine and after 3-4 months of them having the machine and multiple phone calls they finally advised that Briggs and Stratton was not honoring the warranty stating it was not a manufacturer defect. I was simply power washing my garage floor following the manufacturer instructions in the manual when the pump failed. After using the machine on prior uses, pump saver was flushed through the system as recommended. After reading other reviews here and the statement from the first repair shop, this is not a product or company anyone should purchase anything from. Very disappointed. Shame on you Briggs and Stratton I will never purchase another product from your company!!
NEVER BUY BRIGGS. They make the worst standby generators. I have no power during hurricane Ian and now Milton. They’re are pure garbage.
This company has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I purchased a new Craftsman Lawn Mower 02/2021 from Lowe's during winter time. Started to use it during 05/2021 until 07/2021 when the engine made a loud bang and stopped working. Took it into an authorized service repair center, paid $35.00 to have it inspected and took about 3 weeks for this process. The repair center said "broken connecting rod due to lack of lubrication" I check the oil and gas every time before using the lawn mower, it is on the full mark. How does an engine just break like this? The mower was used maybe 5 times since new. Even when the mower was dropped off, it was full of oil. So I called Craftsman which transferred me to Briggs & Stratton for warranty service, they denied my claim due to "lack of lubrication and maintenance on the mower" They were zero help. Basically I am stuck with a broken lawn mower, wasted time/money, not able to peacefully cut my lawn. Going to Purchase a Honda Lawn Mower!
This company politically avoids customer service from consumers by constantly sending them to their dealers or repair shops that simply continues to rip you off. The engines for their lawnmowers simply do not work I have to pay $150.00 every year Just to get this thing running again even after paying $2.50 for the gasoline additive that no one told me I needed to keep buying before purchase this item from Toro. Now that I have finally found the address to the corporate office and simply going to sue them for all of my money back including the so-called Yearly maintenance fees. This company and its products sucks.
