Navigating the family court process was a long and uncertain journey, but having Cinda Scales as my attorney made all the difference. From the start, she was persistent, thorough, and truly lived up to her reputation as a “bulldog” in court. The process was far different from what I initially imagined. It’s long, grueling, and testing. Stay patient. Cinda’s expertise and guidance will get you there. In the end, she didn’t just represent me—she saved my family. I’m incredibly grateful for her dedication and highly recommend her to anyone in need of strong representation.

The reviews speak for themselves. Consultation was $250 went great. Paid $2,500 cash in February for Cinda to represent our family never heard back, so we contacted the office in September 7 MONTHS LATER. Secretary claimed they left 1 voicemail in February, which they did not! We are willing to pull our phone records if able to prove so! So in 7 months “1 voicemail was left” which it wasn’t. Not 1 more call, not an email, not a certified letter.. absolutely no communication for over 6 months is CONCERNING AND QUESTIONABLE! We decided we did not want to proceed with our case due to this reason and was pleasantly surprised when we got a refund back of over $2,100! Our family is going to hire a different office for our very simple needs.

Did not follow through when the order came back from the other lawyer (10-15) window to check to make sure the order is correct. She was told it was wrong and she never filed it with the court in time for the correction. Went in after the date expired and she asked for more money. No stuck with an order that is completely incorrect. Do not recommend, does not follow up.

BEWARE!!! Had neither the time, or frankly I believe, the intention of seeing my case through. There is a reason every bill comes with the threat of being dropped. I paid every bill, maintaining the full retainer for over 10 months and I was dropped as a client 1 WEEK (to the day interestingly, I dont think it would have been granted after) before my final hearing, 11 months later. She retained over 80% of her advance retainer fee at this time?! I was sent the first non-itemized bill I received the entire year, mailed 2 weeks (YEP mailed) before my court date. No, I was not contacted about a meeting to prepare, or even a phone chat about any additional info I could provide to help ensure things went my way. I was told I had less than a week from when I recieved it, while I was out of the country, to pay. Even after a phone message stating I had not yet received the bill and would pay the following business day upon my return, by phone with a service fee, I was dropped. Surprise surprise somehow in that time "work was done" on my case and I didn't receive the full retainer amount listed on the last bill (from 2 weeks ago). The judge was told I "failed and refused to fulfill [my] financial obligation to council." Somebody failed to fulfill their obligation and it wasn't me. I should have known since every bill threatened to drop me, from the beginning that was the wording of the billing statements. While she had my money! I suspect that was the intention going in and since I did not fail to pay, a completely unreasonable, and I suspect unethical, situation was created. Interestingly, I was dropped on the day I still had until close of business to pay. Before I even "failed" in my obligations. I wonder if it's ok for a lawyer to lie to a judge like that? I certainly ended up screwed, which I won't go into here, by facing a 2 hour hearing finalizing every aspect of my divorce, ALONE. 1 year and over 6k later. I am filing a complaint and will let the board decide.

READ THIS FIRST!!!!!!! Prepare for the worst! If you want your life taken away, this is the lawyer for you! Learn your rights and defend yourself! These people do not care about your livelihood and will take advantage of you every step of the way! --- BEWARE VETERANS!! None of these lawyers in Martinsburg have your best interest at heart, they are COLD as ICE, your family are a paycheck to them. Look for the Truth in their laws, they are not even following themselves. These people think you are ignorant and expect you not to stand up for your rights! You have rights to 50/50, the SUPREME COURT has made decisions on this for decades. Do you think you are the first one to be deprived?? Look at this WV LAW?? They are allowed to COERCE YOU!!! that means to force you into an agreement. Does this seem constitutional?? Don't let them trap you! Don't give them any information about your life, you have rights to privacy and these people are LITERALLY running a business, and your family is the product!! WV §51-2A-9. Contempt powers of family court judge. (b) A family court judge may enforce compliance with his or her lawful orders with remedial or coercive sanctions designed to compensate a complainant for losses sustained and to coerce obedience for the benefit of the complainant. This is not legal advice but if you do not learn for yourself, you are putting your life in their hands and all you have to do is READ! Just read people, please!
