Actually, I give him a zero rating. He should retire because he can't keep anything straight. He is horrible about returning texts, emails, calls, and being with you on court dates. He likes to get behind closed doors with the judge and opposing atty and work things out without the clients present. He was fired as atty in this case and never offered a partial refund or showed billing evidence of how he thought he eared his fee. He is most definitely not a child advocate.
I hired this attorney to represent me in my divorce an it has been almost 2 years and he has done nothing towards getting me my divorce. Exact thing that some of you have experienced, can't ever get in touch with him, he doesn't return your calls, no one is in his office to answer calls, but he will have his secretary to contact you about money. I paid him over 2700.00 for a divorce that I never got so now I'm having to go through the State Bar to get my money back. I have now hired another attorney. I would not recommend him to my family or friends because he is no good!!!
If I could give this practice ZERO stars, I would. My suggestion is to stay away. Uncontested case and they lose paperwork. They are terrible at returning phone calls, text messages, and always have an excuse as to why an uncontested divorce takes half a year “the judge is out of town”, “the clerk is taking their bar exam”, “we thought we filed it but the court rejected it and we had to re-submit the paperwork” (30 days later and only after I emailed, so there’s no follow up unless you ask), and not to mention that it took them three tries to get the gender right on the paperwork for the parties involved. I had to baby sit the paperwork myself and babysit the case and when I ask for a follow up, no response. Then when I got aggravated, here comes the excuses. Yet, I called the court and they all tell me that my attorney left no messages or notes. I do not recommend. What could have been easy and smooth turned into a nightmare. My suggestion is to save your money and go to someone who actually cares about you.
***BEWARE***!!!! This guy may be a con artist! Back in April 2021 I hired Mr. Bonnell to handle my uncontested divorce (the easiest type of divorce) i gave him a 75% down payment for the divorce (that’s what he required to get the process started). It’s now December and he hasn’t handle anything to this date according to what Ive been showed. He will not return my calls or emails. Ive even came to the office to see what he deal was and I was assured that my case was on the corner of his desk and he was about to finish it up. Well 2 months went by and I still have not got a divorce and still can get anyone at the office on the phone. Ive left message after message and send text and email. No response at all! I finally gave up and decided to write the B.A.R association about the whole ordeal. I am currently paying a whole different attorney to handle my case and am out of a lot of money because of CRAIG BONNEL. I wouldn’t recommend him to my worst enemy. Please beware!!!
Mr. Bonnell is amazing. He is a knowledgeable, compassionate and professional attorney, and I would recommend him to anyone in need of legal assistance. It may seem he is not working on your case, or communicating, but he really is working for you. He will communicate when needed (we all like to think attorneys work JUST for us, when they really do have many clients). He managed a very difficult, complex custody case for my wife and I, and really pulled out all the stops to make a win for us.
