I found EBJ from google reviews and after talking to several closing attorneys I decided to use them. EBJ offered the fastest closing availability of any other closing attorney I spoke to. Also they were responsive and available to answer questions. There technology was simple and easy to use for us the buyer, but the lender and seller also commented that they liked the online system as well. EBJ performed a real estate closing for my Dads estate. A Title search performed by Elyse Johnson ended with 1/2 the property value being designated to relatives that had no claim on the property. This was a direct result of poor attention to detail and apparent laziness. Ms. Johnson did offer to settle the matter for 1/3 of the proceeds due without admitting any responsibility, eventually negotiating more and stating “ that was the best she could do without going bankrupt “. We decided not to take her offer of thousands less than her mistake cost us and chalk it up to having an inept closing attorney ( chosen by realtor) and be free to review her ineptitude for the sake of anyone that might need an attorney that can adequately address your needs. That is definitely not Elyse B. Johnson . To offer a lowball settlement for a mistake entirely of her making and stating “ any more would bankrupt her” is unprofessional and actually pitiful. Lots of professional and hardworking attorneys out there , Elyse B. Johnson isn’t one of them.
