I had a very positive experience with Mr. Clyde Ellis during the closing of the sale of my house in Hermanvile, MS. He was very professional and efficient.

I debated posting a review, but after a few unpleasant experiences I felt I should. Ellis and Ellis handled the closing of my deceased father's estate, but I felt they were unprofessional in several instances. I was required to email several notarized documents to them over the past few months, but never recieved responses or acknowledgements to any of my emails. I have also emailed them directly with questions and did not receive responses. I was contacted about 2 days before the house closing (I had no idea it was under contract) and was asked to have the closing paperwork notarized. Of course, I agreed and said that I had a notary in my office who could assist (the same one I had been working with for all other paperwork). I was told I had to use one of the notaries that they work with and that they would send someone to my office. I accepted that information at face value and assumed they had my best interest in mind. It wasn't until the notary was at my office the next morning that I was able to see all of the paperwork, which included itemized expenses for a $200 notary fee and $30 overnight shipping charge. I was not made aware of these expenses and was never sent paperwork to look over (the notary brought it directly). At that point, I felt I had no choice. I signed everything understanding that I was now responsible for this cost, but called to express my irritation. My feedback was met with defense and disagreement. The representative I spoke with insisted they had shared the expense information. I explained I would have offered to drive directly to the closing (less than a tank of gas) or met their notary at his office if that was less expensive than having him come to mine. Ultimately, I feel they lack professionalism in communication and do not have their clients best interest in mind.

Clyde Ellis has closed real estate transactions for many of my clients and his practice does a good job.
