I have transacted 3 sales of condos with this company. Although the closing went thru ok on the last transaction they deducted 10% of the proceeds for withholding tax even though the sales price was below $50000. I have researched this with other closing agents and normally $300k is the reportable IRS limit. We supplied a USA tax id prior to closing and that was not good enough for this firm. The attitude of the main closer is also poor. So 2 years later we are still awaiting the refund from the IRS. In conclusion if you have a foreign entity or trust we would not recommend this company for these transactions.

I had an opportunity to work with this law firm on a complex real estate matter regarding a living trust that was set up for my deceased parents in connection with a reverse mortgage. In attempting to accomplish a “deed in lieu of foreclosure” I was getting nowhere with the HOA attorney and called the Weisman law firm for guidance. By way of background, I am a trial lawyer in New York. I have been practicing over 35 years. I have tried cases all over the country, being admitted into courts in California, Michigan, New Jersey, District of Columbia and Massachusetts. I have been inducted into a number of elite legal professional associations including Super Lawyers, Million Dollar Advocates Form, Board of Distinguished Counsel, Top 1% Inner Circle of Trial Counsel. I have also instructed trial practice at St. John’s law school and New York State Trial Lawyers Institute. I am not stating this to impress the reader of this review. I am stating this to impress upon the reader that I am not easily impressed with lawyers as a whole. However, I am quite impressed with Wendi Weisman, Esq.. Wendi Weisman is, simply put, a courtroom bulldog that will not be leashed. She is smart, aggressive, creative, resourceful and effective. She resolved my very complex matter, which I took months attempting to resolve, in fifteen minutes. That is not a typo - not months, but 15 minutes. I don’t think the HOA or their attorney ever knew what hit him. Needless to say, Wendi will be my Florida lawyer going forward - on all referrals from my office and all personal matters - including a closing on a Miami property upon which I intend to proceed. If you do not consult Wendi Weisman on your real estate matter, you are doing yourself a huge disservice. Highly recommended!!! Thank you Wendi!!
