My case is an unfortunate one in it never ends because my ex simply refuses to pay an Ostler Smith award that dates back to 2007. I hired Ron Funk to try and finally get this situation solved. He is absolutely the worst attorney I have ever had. He was "lead" council and I still do not think he had had a clue about what my case was about. I told them, not him, because he never contacted me that my ex was in contempt of court for not giving us the correct records and he did the same to them. When I complained to Mr. Funk he argued with me instead of going back for the correct records. After signing with him in August, three months later he had done almost nothing. Dayn Holstrom got on the phone and I never saw them, but they watched me the whole time. He was insulting and condescending They charged me $8,800.00 for nothing. Samantha Pruett completely botched the arrears calculations putting down child support instead of spousal support and it appears she pulled numbers out of the air because if we went to court with those we would have been shot down. Chrstie Coy, the office manager, told me she would adjust my bill because Mr. Funk billed me to discuss with his team my concerns, but she of course denies it. I would go so far as to say they have a culture of dishonesty at that firm in my opinion. I heard several lies. I am filing a complaint against them with the State Bar of California for violating the Professional Rules of Conduct. For such a big firm, you would think there would be a lot more reviews. I warn you these people are not the attorneys they claim to be. Just because they are big does not make them good.

Divorced is a difficult time for anyone. It’s easier though when you have a legal team that is knowledgeable and communicates well. Having Mr. Roark and his team in my corner really made this process easier. I would highly recommend.

She is assertive in the courtroom and quite a pistol, yet handles arguments with such grace. She took my case on knowing that I had been done wrong in the past by prior attorneys, and was more than ready to fight for me and my son. She was simply a godsend and was able to successfully get me 100% of what I was fighting for.

I felt Sam listened to everything I had to say. She sought to understand where I was coming from and what I needed. I felt like she advocated for me every step of the way. One thing I appreciated about her the most was her honesty and her frankness. If something I requested or was inquiring about would end up costing me more in attorney fees than what I was asking for, she was very honest about that. She took my financial situation into consideration and made sure to do everything she could to make the process as affordable for me as possible. Although attorneys are not cheap, regardless of how they are representing you, I wholeheartedly appreciate the efforts she made to keep my costs low. One thing I would recommend, as the client, is to read over all documents, settlements, requests, and other items in writing and check for misspellings and grammatical errors because I did see quite a few of those. Aside from that, I feel at peace knowing I had Sam representing me throughout my divorce. Her confidence and knowledge of laws surrounding divorce provided me with even more comfort in choosing her as my representation.
