It’s sadly a shell of its former self. The town has gone completely downhill (along with student enrollment). Most of the best bars and restaurants closed shop, (apparently you can’t hang out at spillway anymore), sports teams and their conferences have gone down hill, it’s sad. It is an amazing school (or was 15 years ago) with a mostly modern and beautiful campus. I saw one review saying its campus is not nice..not sure what they are smoking as it’s hands down the most beautiful campus in the state, as you pass through woods and by lakes going from classes. The campus has updated a lot too in recent years. One of the biggest and best rec centers in the country.. if you like to hit the gym Hopefully things turn around

The Motorcycle Riders Course at SIU is definitely a must to do. Even a seasoned rider can benefit alot from this course. The instructors are patient and coach you the whole time.

This college has a beautiful campus. With all the different trees and plant life and types of building styles. The dorm rooms are all singles which leaves you with a lot of space for your stuff. The food offered in the dining halls are of wide variety and quite good. If you have a problem in your room, maintenance strives to solve it as quickly as possible. There are a wide variety of services available to the students in whatever area they need help in.

I have had an incredible experience as a student at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. The professors are knowledgeable and dedicated, and the campus has a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. One of the best aspects of my college experience has been living at the Quads Apartments, just a minute's walk from campus. The apartments are clean, spacious, and provide a peaceful living environment for students like myself. I truly believe that the Quads are the best apartment option for SIU students in Carbondale. The location and quality of the apartments have made my college experience even better and I highly recommend both Southern Illinois University and the Quads Apartments to anyone looking for a fantastic higher education experience.
