You pay a $2,000 retainer just for him to do whatever he wants and talk to you any kind of way. The things that the judge said in court and what was on my judgment paperwork were two different things. I asked this man over and over to review the transcript. He constantly told me he was in the process. Only for me to find out he had been lying to me the whole time. It was a key part of the judgment but he constantly says it’s not going to make a difference. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! I was awarded custody but only because of abuse that was going on with my child. Had nothing to do with Jerry. If this is your only option you are better off representing yourself! Also, I did not receive my judgment paperwork for months after the case ended If it wasn’t for his assistant, I probably still wouldn’t have it.

If I could give NEGATIVE 5 stars, I would. I hired Jerry in mid May and he stated he would file my motion that day. I paid him that day – because he said he would file my motion that day. He LIED to me about filing. In late May when I asked he stated we were just waiting for the court date. Jerry finally filed the motion in late June. It took about 6 weeks for him to file something he stated he was going to do that day. There were several issues of him not returning, calls, texts, or emails. He failed to file a second motion until almost another 2 weeks. This one cost me a day at work – for him to do absolutely nothing in court. Then the third motion took a week for him to file. He failed to get updates from the court. He failed to return my money when requested because he was not doing his job. Then it took arguments (yes, several) to get a copy of my records from him. Even then, he only gave me bits and pieces at a time. When on the phone he would cut me off while I was talking, lie, not answer questions, and just hang up while I was talking. He does not do much in the courtroom either. No arguments, no questions, nothing but stand there and the bare minimum. My two favorite quotes from Jerry to me: “No, I have not done my job,” and “Shut the F- [he used the whole word] up.” I had another issue I was hoping to use him for; but instead, I have filed official complaints with BBB, Toledo Bar Association, and the State Discipline Council.

I’ve known Jerry since 2008 when he helped my cousin out of some serious charges. He did good for my cousin. He did my divorce and I got custody. He did my bankruptcy and it went well. He’s pretty good at criminal defense but Allison Groth is my fav criminal defense lawyer. Matt his right hand man is very busy but when you get Matt you get the best of the best. Matt and Jerry will work with you any way they can. Over all they are great people and like family. Allison once told me she didn’t think she could do as good as Jerry did on one of my cases and she was impressed lol. I love the Purcel family Jerry Matt Jan etc like my own. Once you use them a few times they look out for you. Jerry has called or text me all hours of the night or weekends. They are one of the top 3 in NWO. Jerry will tell you like it is. He got my friend custody. He did my cousin’s divorce. I referred like 35 people over the years.

Matt, Jerry and the other girl in the office (didn’t catch her name) were all very helpful, open minded people! They were honest, and advised me what would be best to do in the situation I’m in. They looked out for me and not just their wallets. Ignore the other reviews, definitely give them a call!

Paid my money for my case then comes time for trial he requests that dismissed my case ????damn that’s what I paid for?!?!
