I graduated from the counseling program in 2017. I am now a Licensed Professional Counselor. The department chair and instructors at Prescott are top notch. If I can find the time, I'd love to return to work on a certification in adventure based therapy. Such a unique learning experience. I'm grateful I chose Prescott College.
I attended Prescott College for only one year, way back in 1999. However it was a year that totally changed my life, my direction, and my ability to believe in myself. The Professors, Staff, and fellow students were incredible, and the independence that the college afforded was so unlike any other college experience I have seen or heard of. (I have since been a Professor at three Colleges/Universities) I wish more students would be able to experience the kind of focused, self-directed learning that Prescott College allowed. Although I left Prescott to pursue other directions, it will forever hold a very special place in my heart.
I just turned in my last assignment for my Masters in education. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I begin my first term at Prescott. This degree allows me to be a professional school counselor with a state certification. I’ve been an educator for over 25 years including 14 years as a private school principal. I’ve evaluated faculty and worked alongside top-notch teachers. I can say without any reservation that the faculty that oversee and direct Prescott’s School of education Masters program are dedicated, knowledgeable, professional, passionate, and talented. This was a rigorous program, you will have to work for your degree but you will learn so much and add value to the field of education upon completion of Prescott’s program. Highly recommended!
Changed my life. They gave me a second chance at an education/life that was so unfamiliar but made perfect sense. It all made sense, why I never “got” school. Our orientation was camping at the bottom of the Grand Canyon... who can say that? Prescott college told me I could do whatever I wanted to if I worked for it. Now a decade later, I can say I’m a much better person for going to PC, with such amazing professors and humans. I’m now an MSW, and going for my LCSW (Clinical Social Work). Thank you for helping me become someone who believes in themselves.
At Prescott College I've found people--students, faculty, and staff--who are amazingly vibrant and wonderfully engaged in increasing the quality and value of their learning experiences, their teaching experiences, and their contributions to the College and our societies--local to global. Students in PC's programs--from undergraduate to PhD programs--are led and coached into "real world" experiences related to their conceptual studies, and asked to think critically and generatively, and to find and create intellectual connections among experience, concepts, possibilities, and theories.
