CUSTOMERS PAY FOR EXPERIENCE!!!!! We have had 3 experiences here so far. The first was a day just for drinks. We were so impressed by the look of the menu we came back. The second we sat at the bar, received phenomenal service, ordered 2 steaks that made this our #1 go to for a steak in Lincoln (Mahogany in Omaha overall). Today's visit a month and a half later, was distasteful and made me never want to come back and do anything other than sitting at the bar. Experience #2 sitting at the bar, the ribeye, NY strip, mac and cheese, and potatoes, were exquisite. The bartender was experienced, pleasant, and created an experience which allowed us wanting more. Today NYE, it's not busy, but our waitress, Essence, was unwelcoming, unpleasant, and displayed a complete annoyance of our presence. We had all of a 3 second introduction when she asked if we needed a minute to look a the menu or knew what we wanted. Super welcoming. Zero introduction in the slightest. Amigos even asks your first name and gives you theirs. Had I not known the food was good from a previous experience, I would've walked out. I wouldn't have known our server's name, had I not asked on her 3rd trip to the table. She was in this to get us in and out. Had this been our only experience here, I'd never come back. I'm all for tipping well, and paying good money for service and food, but based off of today, I wouldn't. Create a memorable experience for people to come back to, and you'll never have to question your business standards, surviving in a dying industry. The food is phenomenal, but when you fail to have adequate or coherent staff, what's the point?

Traveling alone and eating solo can sometimes feel like a chore, but tonight was anything but that. Huge shoutout to Hat Killers Barbershop for sending me here—because wow, what an experience! From the moment I sat down, Kaydee, my server, made sure I felt like a VIP. She didn’t just take my order; she curated an experience, guiding me toward some absolute gems on the menu. Let’s talk about the filet—perfectly cooked, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The mashed potatoes? Silky, rich, and downright addictive. But the real star of the show? The macaroni & cheese. Calling it “life-altering” almost feels like an understatement. Creamy, cheesy, with that perfect hint of indulgence that makes you want to slow down just to savor every bite. Even battling through blowing snow and 10-degree weather, circling for parking like a hawk, was so worth it. This place is an absolute must-visit, and I’m already counting down the days until I pass through again! Ed

The staff greeted me and was very attentive and checking up on me. We also had a nice discussion because I was finding for a steak and got sirloin with fries. I told them the steak was so good that I would pay more for it. Yes, that good!

After a show at the Lied Center, we decided to go to Single Barrel for dinner. We started with the cornbread, which was delicious. I preferred the jalapeño jam, but the sour cream butter and caramelized honey were good as well. I got the honey marinaded pork chop, which was cooked well. It was a little over seasoned for my taste but still delicious. It came with asparagus and sour cream mashed potatoes. The asparagus was cooked perfectly, and the mashed potatoes were amazing. I have added a picture of my meal when it arrived tableside. Overall, it was a great experience, and we look forward to our next visit.

Josh our waiter ave us excellent service and was very attentive to our needs. He recommended the butter ribeye and man was it good. I paired mine with the dirty rice and corn bread appetizer and once the food came out I devoured the steak. Definitely a must try if you are in Lincoln. Also had the bannana bourbon which paired well with my meal.
