I had never heard of a collaborative divorce until someone recommended Kathleen Franco. My experience with Kathleen was exceptional. I came out a better person from my experience with her. She is passionately trying to change the often contentious divorce process to a much more collaborative process where both parties come out feeling empowered, and whole. This enables them to thrive post divorce, and co-parent in a positive way. My case was very high conflict, and my ex and I were very concerned about having to go to court, spending a lot of money, and then having the court make decisions for us. We ended up using Kathleen as a mediator, and the outcome was much better than anticipated. We didn’t end up in court, and with Kathleen’s amazing approach to conflict resolution we were able to negotiate ourselves, and make our own decisions. I can’t imagine going though such a challenging process without her. She is brilliant, intuitive, warm, and compassionate. My husband and I met numerous times with Kathleen for mediation in early 2017. Kathleen had the ability to listen and speak to each of us individually and together in a way that allowed for true and clean communication, which resulted in us reaching a non-contentious Legal Separation Agreement. The dynamic between my husband and I has changed so that our relationship with our child is healthier. When we met with the court to answer questions about our filed Legal Separation Agreement, the court complimented us on how our Child Support Agreement and Parenting Plan reflect the best interests of our child. The court stated that it was obvious that we had put our child's needs above our own. This would not have been possible without Kathleen's expert and conscious assistance. Kathleen has knowledge, skills, and experience that facilitate communication and agreement for all parties involved. Franco was our arbitrator in 2004, she should not be deciding these cases with no background in psychological evaluations. She made decisions regarding my children's lives despite an extensive psychological evaluation of my partner that stated he was mentally ill. She completely disregarded it and instead quoted the children's horseback instructor. She handed a 3 year old and a 7 year old over to him half time. My children are now 22 and 17 and have no relationship with their father. They are great kids and I have always supported them in all ways, including their relationship with him. He has not, they will struggle with what they went through with him the rest of their lives. She is very pro father even if it is inappropriate to be so. She is a danger to children.
