Wonderful, wonderful experience! Our endless onslaught of questions were always promptly and graciously answered. We were very new to this process, but never felt like we were left stranded at any point. When/if we decide to adopt again, we will 100% use Katherine and team again!

We worked with Emily Barrett to complete our adoption, and it was a wonderful life changing experience. Emily was great to our family and our birth mother. I recommend her to my friends (and family) that are looking to adoption whenever asked. It feels odd to leave a review for adoption, but truthfully, I cannot recommend the whole of Lowndes & Barrett enough!

Katherine Braun was excellent and so professional while finalizing the adoption of our son. We would recommend them to anyone and certainly would use them again for future adoptions!

I came here extremely vulnerable as a possible birth mom. I was 22 pregnant just out of homelessness and an abusive relationship. We (Emily and I) bonded over a school I went to for high school. I wasn’t really even sure I wanted to choose adoption. It took everything in me to even meet with Emily. She was nice to me and gave me snacks and buttered me all up. More than anything I wanted an out of state adoption, that was important to me. She told me it would be extremely difficult if not impossible to get a judge to sign off on this. Being in the position I was, normally I’d look into it more but I trusted her. Something still felt off in my gut and so I reached out to other agencies with great skepticism. She’d given me a book of Prospective adoptive parents to choose from. All from the state of South Carolina. I’d taken it home and chosen the family I felt was best from the book. Still it didn’t feel right but I didn’t know if I’d find anyone else so I told her sure when she asked if she could contact them. As it turned out, out of state adoptions were very doable but she didn’t have any out of state adoptive families at that time. Which meant, if I didn’t choose her, she wouldn’t make any money. In the meantime, I found another agency who told me it was absolutely untrue that an out of state adoption would be difficult. I was furious. These are peoples lives peoples children and the decisions made within the realm of adoption are heartbreaking for both birth mom and baby In the most earth shattering sense. It’s an absolute shame to think anyone could sleep at night doing work so unethically only focused on making money, especially in this field. I pray if you are a birthmom you will think twice before working with this firm and attorney and realize that you always have rights. Always. Don’t ever let someone tell you something and just accept it. I know you’re vulnerable and you will get through this. The power is in your hands and just give yourself some space and do some research before making such a big decision. Follow your heart and know that when you look, the right people will come. That’s all. Blessings and karma, Summer

Wonderful experience with Emily Barrett. She took care of us from the first day to the day of finalization and even after. She took the time to answer every question we had and gave us the support we needed during the entire process.
