Around 5 years ago I filed for disability at this law office and upon denial I was mailed a letter that informed me I was implored to seek other counsel. This was a huge slap in the face as my disability has severely worsened in pain and functionality and I have been denied once again by social security. Do not seek counsel with this firm for disability claims, seek proper attorneys who specialize in such cases (not real estate). Be cautious. This firm may only consider those who they may profit off of.

William “Bill” Chellis and his amazing team handled my recent real estate purchase in Sullivan county. As an attorney myself I hold the lawyers I hire (and their staff) to a very high standard. I was incredibly pleased with the work Bill and his team did for me. Great communication. Attention to detail. It’s really nice to see there is still this kind of ethical, smart and tenacious attorney out there who really “watches your back” as a client yet still manages to be the kind of person you can enjoy speaking with. I would highly recommend William Chellis to anyone looking for an experienced, professional and “five star” attorney in the Sullivan county area. I’m not surprised he’s the lawyer so many contractors and realtors in that area use and recommend. I used Bill Chellis as my attorney for a house I purchased in Jeffersonville. I was a first-time homebuyer and did not know a lot about the process; Bill and his employees guided me through it step-by-step and helped me negotiate with the seller’s representatives. I felt a huge sense of relief and was very pleased with the process. I have since recommended him to another friend for a home purchase, too. I plan to use him again if I ever get around to buying house #2!

I've now worked with Bill as both a buyer and a seller; both experiences were excellent. The office has always been prompt and responsive to any concerns or questions I had, everyone is friendly, and Bill works quickly. Don't think I'd use any other attorney in Sullivan County.

I was injured on the job and needed a lawyer as my claim was denied by my employers insurance co. While it was always difficult to get Mr. Chellis on the phone, that has been my experience the few times I have had a lawyer. He did handle the appeal and that went well. A year later when it was time to file for the permanency judgement, I called the office 9 times and could not get him to return my call. I can maybe understand that he was swamped, but I feel a lawyer has a professional obligation to at least let you know where you stand as far as your representation. It's not like the car dealer blowing you off - you are in a very vulnerable position without a lawyer in this situation. I finally found a new attorney who agreed to take the case even if it was way out of his area. He did a fantastic job and I finally got compensated for the damage to me knee. When the office was notified by NYS concerning the decision, Chellis had the nerve to request The Full attorney fee's due on the case - leaving ZERO for the lawyer you actually won a better judgement than if he would have, if he had only answered the phone. -- The fee request is in the public record. -- After the 3rd non-retured call, I made notes of every time I called the office. These are the kind of actions that tarnish the profession which has plenty of hard working individuals who aren't greedy and do a great job. **Unfortunately you have to give 1 star to get the review to post**
