I would give them a minus if I could. Please don't be get this service, save your money. My brother was a member since 2019, he had a stroke and had to leave island to receive care. The doctor said he did not need to go to another hospital, but needed to get care off island. These people would not even help pay for a plane ticket. All these years he paid the membership fee and for what? Please don't get them. They are lying to the people in the VI. Look for something that would help regardless of the situation. I have tried to speak to them and the customer service was poor and no one ever calls you back. Just Terrible!!!
I recently attended a presentation by Brian Slay on MASA Emergency Medical Transportation, and it was truly enlightening. Brian did an outstanding job explaining the benefits and addressing all my questions. What stood out to me the most was the crucial information that medical services can't place liens on your residence, but a transportation service can. This revelation was a game-changer for me. Kudos to Brian for his expertise and excellent presentation! I'm now a proud lifetime member. Highly recommend!
I am a MASA member and I have been to a few of the seminars including the one where I signed up as a member. MASA provides many benefits and it has been beneficial to go back and hear about the list of benefits again. Brittany Whisman is amazing. The minute you walk into her seminar, you feel her energy. She is so friendly and welcoming, you feel like you have known her for years. She greets everyone individually and calls them by their name. When she launches into her presentation, her material is very different than others and present it in a way that you get more out of it. She shares her personal stories which drives her points home. Her passion for the product she sells makes you want to sign up. She talks about her previous employment with Neptune Society and she ties that into why she is passionate about MASA. I feel she is a such a huge asset to MASA and I will be recommending her to our friends.
The claim process is a nightmare! It takes at least 2 months to get reimbursed. They say it takes 30-60 days, but so far it's been like 60-90 days. I guess I'm used to dealing with companies like Voya and AFLAC - reimbursement is done in 24-72 hours and direct deposited. MASA takes much longer, plus you wait for the check in the mail. Yet they get THEIR payment on time. It is a nice benefit to have, but I feel the customer service is lacking.
The cancellation process after a recent death is absolutely ridiculous. You can tell that their main focus is the bottom line and not the customer. I would definitely not recommend.
