I called this attorney for help with my elderly inlaws yesterday. I assumed I had a simple elder law issue - assistance determining if it's better to have my disabled mother in law retire and collect social security and go on Medicare and get help with these processes OR is it better / more financially sound to keep her on disability insurance and wait and see if she recovers. I just wanted to know the legalities and financial ramifications as well as average time frames for these things and what her rights are and wanted to pay an attorney to help. This lawyer told me that I probably won't be able to find help for this and that he "doesn't have a crystal ball" to help us with. Wow, just so rude. Luckily I was able to secure some attorney referrals though our neighbors of attorneys that are capable, willing and polite. Maybe being in law makes a person jaded, but it's still a service you're providing to the public and there is no reason to be so snippy.
