I can't even bring myself to giving this firm 1 star. But I will give them the benefit of the doubt because she lets you know that she works within the confines of the court to the benefit of her firm. She may advocate, but you better make sure you are not in a difficult situation and that you have enough funds to support her efforts on your behalf. Melissa also loves her clients and says she works diligently for them. Her solicited positive reviews even say so. Make sure you have a clear plan of action including a potentially extended timeline (and cost) of her diligence, especially if it is not a cut and dry case. Make sure she clearly outlines her fees for every phone call, letter, and thought because $5,000 goes very quickly with or without restitution. Also, make sure you restrict any negative feedback about the service provided or question the plan of action. She only allows for "one comfort call" which should be more than enough to make up for any discontentment regarding the service she and her staff provide. I have no doubt the Hawkins Legal Group can be the answer for your legal concerns. Otherwise they would not be in business. However, I would not recommend her services. Her diligence, slow response, and outcome did not warrant the price tag. The same lack of results could have been achieved without her services.

Where do I begin? Mrs. Hawkins & Ms. Lynne are simply amazing. The entire experience was top notch. I hired the team a few years ago as I went back and fourth regarding ending my marriage. The Hawkins Legal Group was always a phone call away. They kept me updated on the status on my case all the time. My case was very tedious, stressful, bitter, and hurtful to say the least; however they maintained their professionalism at all times. Mrs. Hawkins was extremely tough during court and stayed strong to get me an amazing settlement from my ex-husband. Mrs. Hawkins knows her stuff and does not come to court to play; she's sugar sweet, but in court she's no nonsense and fights for her clients. Ms. Lynne, is extremely sweet, helpful, kind and kept me inform every step of the way. The Hawkins Law Group attended all mediations, court cases, etc. with me, they represented me every step of the way. Look no further if you're in the divorce process, you will not be disappointed. Your divorce lawyer should have your best interest in mind; please believe that the Hawkins Legal group will have your back from the beginning to the end. I am extremely pleased with my divorce case.

Melissa is a Top-Rate Dad Defender!!! Being a father is one of the most important things in my life. When my ex filed filed for divorce out of the blue after 7 years of marriage, my biggest concern was being able to play the largest role possible in their lives, while preserving my financial ability to provide for their needs. Melissa guided me through the chaos, helped me separate emotions from facts and advised me where I should take a stand and where it might be better to yield. She was polite and cordial with the plaintiff when needed and absolute bulldog on the occasions it was warranted. While no one wants to get a divorce, its better to have Melissa on your side of the table than not.

Hawkins Legal picked up my case which began as disagreement over the terms of the original order and expanded into a request for an amended order. On both actions, the attorneys were responsive, thorough, and well prepared during both settlement attempts/mediation and trial. As a result of their due diligence, I was able to obtain a favorable ruling resulting in, among other results, me gaining a significant amount of time with my child.

Melissa Hawkins was my attorney during a divorce that was extremely difficult and emotionally draining. She fought for me like a champion. I was always able to depend on her. She is professional, personable and made the hard but right decisions for myself and my children. When we had to attend court status conferences, she was always prepared and professional. Her personality made me comfortable, her knowledge of the law allowed me to trust her. I would recommend this law firm to anyone that needs an exceptional family law attorney.
