I was excited to walk into Office Depot in 1988. So many office supplies at so low prices! We have been going to our neighborhood store since around 1990. It's close by and the prices are good. But in the last 4-5 years or so I noticed that the price I was charged for an item was higher than the price on the shelf label. And now other issues have come up with this store. When I had to get some email files printed they did the first two jobs fine. But I forgot to include the files in my next email and the young clerk and I had a laugh when I came in and tried to pick up my pages. I went straight home and emailed the files to the print department using the same, exact email I had been using on the two prior orders. I went to the store and another clerk told me there was no email from me. I said that the email had gone through fine so he checked again but couldn't find it. Even the female clerk, a supervisor I believe, said that there were no emails from me. I went home in disgust. I checked my email and there it was plain as day, sent @ 6:15 pm on that Tuesday. I called back but they were still unable to pull up the email that I had sent. I called back and left a message for the store manager. I then called their 800 number but the rep seemed confused as to what I was reporting. I have been inaccurately charged for printing services and the store is very, very slow to answer the phone. Sometimes it rings about 10-15 times before anyone picks up. It seems to me that Office Depot has lost a little of the magic it once had. But there is a silver lining to all of this. It’s because of companies like these that I am devoting my writing business to investigative reporting and consumer issues. See you on the web.

Ordered a print on 1/17/23 they charged me for 2 printers. Took the money for 2 printers. My invoice says 1 printer. Then I contacted customer service on 1/23/23 told them about the error. They told me the second order would be canceled and my money would be refunded. The afternoon of 1/23/23 I get emailed tracking for a second printer even tho the first one was delivered 1/23/23.I called a second time was told it would be canceled and someone would be contacting me in 24 hrs. No phone call ever happened. Got up on 1/24/23 and both purchases had been refunded. Got up on 1/25/23 had been charged for one. Thinking all is good. The afternoon of 1/25/23 the second printer shows up. I refused delivery of that printer. Wake up 1/27/23 and have now again been charged a second time. Have had one chat and 2 phone calls on 1/27/23 and the only answer I get it someone will call me in 24-48 hrs. Same thing I was told on 1/23/23. No body has yet to call. I wouldn't order off their website, they scam your money and won't return it.

I ordered a scanner for work , that was delivered broke. I called to have it replaced, I was given a pick up date of 8/16/2022. No one came. I've been given 3 pickup dates and the broken scanner is still here. They won't refund the money until the scanner has been returned. This has been going on since 8/11/2022. Not to mention the scanner was delivered in the box like I purchased it from the store, no extra protection. This is very unprofessional, I'm very disappointed in Office Depot. Now I'm waiting for another imaginary date and I still can't use something my company purchased. I wish there was a no stars.

It's important to know that today's Office Depot is very different than the ones of the past. They have recently changed their return and exchange policies and what they have made of them is a giant mess. I was in fact asked to "call a number" to pay for a "new order" for a replacement for a chair with a damaged part (only a couple of weeks old). Does anyone do this today? "Call a number" and give credit card data? Be careful if you do, I do not. I felt I was being tricked. I do not think today's version of Office Depot has customer care in mind with these new policies. I for one, would rather return the damaged chair that is only 2 weeks old and seek another company who cares more about the quality of what they sell.

Office Depot should do way better with making sure clients are satisfied!! I bought a printer 9/25/22 for store pick up! They didn’t have it and didn’t call to say that nor called to say hey we are going to ship it instead! I told them it was a inconvenience & needed a printer asap so I went to buy another one from some where else! They gave me a $100 refund towards the printer! Then two days later canceld it!!! I still got no printer and said at this point I want a full refund! The refunded me 9/28/22 it is 10/15/22 and I still don’t have my money back!!
