I trusted my attorney, Sherri Warfel. I followed her from Stark & Stark because she had been at PRA before. Sherri knew that my family wanted to go to trial and she knew the net number required in order for us to settle. Sherri sent me a text message with the net number while we were on the call with the mediator. I made my decision to settle based upon that text. Otherwise, I was not going to settle. When I learned the amount of the check, I shared that it was not the number she gave me in a text. She said she is not a business person and this is not why I hired her and she approximated the amount. This is quite concerning that for the number of years that she has practiced, that she guides negotiations without knowing the numbers. Her text did not say approximately or estimated it was an absolute number. She NEVER sent the itemization of costs, nor will they, and she only sent the bucket of breakdown in costs before sending out the check. If it's only 5% less, pay the client. At this law firm, everyone else gets paid the exact amount, except the client. The law firm had a marketing person contact me a few days ago about this review and wanted to extend an olive branch to me to take down this review. The law firm wants to negotiate the difference. We already negotiated the case with a mediator with "guidance" from Sherri. This response below is in bad faith. I wrote the three partners (Adams, Hartmann, and Watson), and they took time to respond and suggested if I am not happy go to arbitration. You cannot trust this law firm.
Update: **My wife and I were both served with defamation suits after posting these reviews. The attorney, John A. Hartmann, lll, sent a letter advising that we had until June 28th to remove our reviews or face a defamation suit. On June 27th the suit was already filed in Mercer County Court. It is clear now why the court system is so backlogged. This is an unconscionable waste of resources.** My wife contacted this firm to set up a divorce consultation. She was transferred to John A. Hartmann, lll. He eagerly took her call, and then told her that he could represent her and try to get her much higher than 50% of the divorce settlement. We all know that in New Jersey, divorce settlements are 50-50. This is not morally or ethically acceptable. He then sent her an outrageous bill for taking her call. My wife has asked several times for proof that she was advised of the fees being charged. We do not understand why the billing department will not send us this information.
Working with the team at Pellettieri Rabstein & Altman has been an absolute pleasure. I highly recommend this law firm for all Workers Compensation claims!
Erin was always super responsive and helpful throughout the whole divorce process. Even when she wasn't in the office she still replied to my emails or questions. During a high stress time it was nice to have that type of contact person!
My attorney, Andrew Watson, provided excellent support and knowledge about my employment issues. Mr. Watson patiently walked me through my "do not compete" contract with my former company. He gave me a clear and concise understanding of my rights under NJ law. Andrew was ethical in terms of only putting in the hours necessary to deal with my legal case. I would use him again in a heartbeat.
