On September 7, 2015 our lives were dramatically changed when our family walked into our home after being on vacation to find 3-5 inches of water throughout a 5 bedroom single story home. To give perspective the water lines were present on the outside of our home because for roughly 48++ hours the house was submerged with water pouring from a clean fill line of a toilet. The fitting that secures the line from the toilet to the wall had apparently cracked allowing thousands of gallons of water to fill our home. Devastating is an understatement... the home was by all intent and purpose uninhabitable. We had what we thought was "good insurance" without a claim to be had previously. Our "good" insurance stopped speaking to us within 3 weeks. We were left paying hotel bills, paying for 3 meals in resturants per day, then having to rent a home all while paying a mortgage... and twin 6 year old boys. This is when Susan Odess came into our lives and guided us down the overwhelming path of navigating insurance companies and their unimaginable games trying to tire their clients out and drain them financially by dragging out a process that takes the life out of you if you let it. If you believe this is a dramatized description just walk in our shoes for the year and a half that we did. Because of Susan and her vast knowledge of the law, experience in the world of residential water loss, and compassion we were not alone. Between her and her team after a long road there was light at the end of the tunnel. Susan is not afraid of the big business insurance companies and truly wants justice for her clients. We interviewed 2 other attorneys prior to closing to work with Susan. Not for one day did we feel that we made a wrong decision.
