With any attorney, you worry (or at least I did) with whether they would overbill you, actually listen to your needs, call you back, and give you the right advice. We don’t usually hire attorneys for easy situations, so picking the right attorney is crucial. I’ve known people who hired an attorney that would give them the kind of advice to keep the case from settling, so they could increase their fees. That was not Tom at all. Tom and his entire team listened to my (many) needs, responded to every call or email, understood what was important for me, and gave me the right advice, and was extremely fair and completely transparent in all billing matters. He and his staff always answered the phone when I called or called me back very promptly (which is not something I can say about other attorneys I or people I know have dealt with). He never made the matter worse (which is also something attorneys can do). And most notably, I respect Tom and his team for their absolute professionalism – with me, with the court, and with the other party. I was proud to have Tom stand by and represent me in court. He never overpromised and kept me fully appraised of my options to help me make the right decision. And we did. I felt like (and still do) a valued client.
