Reviews

I was scared to leave a review in fear of retaliation but I see that my review is important more than ever. Because Shanon did the same thing to us. He didn't have an issue taking $800 from us, wasting our time by not answering emails, phone calls, etc. Costing us very valuable time on our case. We were left to deal with everything (and still dealing with it to date). His excuses were pretty unprofessional and using "family time" as an excuse once when we really really needed his help. nnWe were rushed during our consultation and I had to ask for a receipt for the $200 which he finally sent via email. I'm not sure what his gain is on taking people's money but I think it deserves the next step by all the people he put in worse situations than they were before going to him.nnThis post is in no way defaming or slandering Shanon it's stating facts and the truth on how he runs his business by taking money from people. Which is a shame because there are no attorney's to fight for tenants in Austin. Everyone is paid off by the big real estate gurus. If Shanon feels this post is incorrect, I will more than happy to provide ALL the proof of his lack of unprofessional practices. Feel free to contact me.

I paid Stanfield Law Firm to file a lawsuit. He never finished filing and never returned my emails and my phone calls. Absolutely do not give your money to this law firm. Very unprofessional.

I paid him 2 months ago, but haven't been able to contact him via voicemail or email. His voicemail is being listened to or just cleared out as it seems to from full one week to allow me to record a message last week and this week. I will try to update this.

Agreed to pay for the consultation fee and his help with my case. During the consult, my time was very rushed, and I felt like he was not listening to what I was telling him. He just copied all of my paperwork and said he would look through it later. I was in the middle of discussing one point with him, and he asked me to pay the $200 for the consult fee in the middle of the discussion. Said he would write a letter we agreed on within 1 week. By the end of 2 weeks, had not even started my letter, had not contacted me, and had not responded to several emails asking about the status of my letter. I had to call his office asking for a response back. Told them I was getting very angry that I had sent several emails with no responses. Very unprofessional. After finally receiving the letter, it gave one month to get a response. After that one month, I emailed again to see if he had received any responses. Again, no response to my several emails. I again called his office so he would finally email back and was told that he did not have time for my case anymore and that I should probably find someone else to help me instead. He refunded me half of the consult fee and that was that. The one star review is for the next part. A month later, after I had decided to go to someone else for help, I had to email him and make sure there was no response from the original letter he had sent out, before requesting new representation from a different lawyer. Turned out, he had received 2 letters from the creditors and he never felt the need to forward them to me. When asked for them, I got an email response saying "This is what I received. Good luck." This lawyer is VERY unprofessional and inconsiderate. Having to call and email his office just to get a response is ridiculous. If your case does not have the opportunity to generate him lots of money, he does not place importance on your case. Do not recommend this lawyer if you would like serious and professional help.

Mr. Stanfield was hired and paid to handle our landlord's health code violations. My husband and I met with him, discussed the situation, he made his recommendations albeit being rushed the whole time, and it was decided what action would be taken. He indicated it would be about 30 minutes of work and he would send us the details before contacting the landlord. After several weeks of not hearing anything and attempting to reach him by both phone and email, we still have not received an update from him. It is unfortunate that he feels that it's worth his time to scam people out of their money and time and render no actual services that were paid for in full. He is very unprofessional and does not deserve anyone's business.
