I recently got into a sticky legal situation, and I didn’t even know where to start. I did what most of us do - I Googled around and called a few lawyers. I must have interviewed a dozen lawyers to deal with my 5 count felony narcotics case. The arresting officers entered my home and confiscated narcotics, my 8 firearms, and about $20k. Every lawyer I interviewed wanted to talk about money before discussing the details of my case. That's how I knew I found the right lawyer when Betty listened to the details of my case and discussed my options and expectations before ever mentioning money. She discussed both best and worse case scenarios and promised me she would personally handle my case and not pass it off to anyone else at her law firm. Betty would have to plead my case all over again each time Travis county changed prosecutors and she never gave up the fight. Betty put together a defense of case files that involved bieng nervous around officers durring a traffic stop does not qualify as probable cause to search the vehicle. The final prosecutor agreed, due to lack of probable cause of searching my vehicle which lead to officers entering my home, the case was thrown out on the grounds of illegal search and seizure. 5 felonies completely dropped. I was content with this outcome , but Betty continued fighting. Betty went the extra mile and forced the travis county sheriff's office to forfeit all of my confiscated money. They tried to drag their feet and make it difficult to recieve my money, but she held thier feet to the fire and threatened litigation and fees if they continued to refuse to forfeit my funds. This made them move quickly and they cut a check. Thanks to Betty's vast knowledge of the law and most importantly her relentless grit, the best case scenario concludes my experience.
