If I could give them lower than one star, I would. Obtained this law firm while trying to purchase a condominium. Was assigned Kathy Diaz. I never heard from her through out the entire process. Had difficulty obtaining financing, called Kathy repeatedly. No response. Three months later a Laura calls concerning earnest money. She felt the seller should get everything even though the contract states if you can’t obtain financing, money is returned to buyer. Tide Law Firm represented the SELLER - usually a conflict of interest - at an interpleader hearing. Judge Arakis awarded money to seller even though there was no contract, even though finance was not obtained through Academy Mortgage, even though seller requested $5000 more because she took property off the market. Interesting set of laws in South Carolina. As an aside, this is the first time Tide Law firm actually responded to anything from me. As to the attorneys allegation that i did not mention the contract had expired, I did, at least 3 times. The interpleader judge (Arakas) decided that although the financing wasn't obtained from the mortgage company, even though the seller demanded $5,000 more for a week extension, and even though the contract stated the Earnest Money should be returned to the buyer, the law could be overlooked, the contract could be ignored and the burden would be placed on the buyer. I stand behind my comment - interesting set of laws that are applied in South Carolina.
