I have worked with Jeff Payne and Turner, Padget, Graham and Laney for almost ten years and I have can say with vigor and with full confidence he is hands down one of the most resourceful, knowledgeable and competent attorney's I have ever worked with. Jeff has a broad range of knowledge around many legal segments and manages all our general counsel requirements. When something falls out of his scope or knowledge base, he is quick to find resources and seamlessly provides additional input that is relevant to the matter. When presented with an emergency or situation that needs quick attention, he always finds a way to carve out time and deliver on our issue. Few business people really cater to their clients in such a way that make them feel valued and taken care of. Jeff delivers on that in spades! We have many options for legal guidance but we trust Jeff and his firm because of his expertise and relationship. You will not find a more competent or adaptive attorney!

WARNING WARNING To bad don't have negative ratings, this company has a lawyer named Jeffrey Payne who has been handling an estate for my family, the estate has been tied up in probate court for over 10 years now the longest in the state of South Carolina and still hasn't been settled because of this person who calls himself a lawyer, he tries to change what the Will specifies to do with the assets, he keeps taken money from the estate to pay for his none service to the estate, if you call his office to ask about the estate your charged, if they make a mistake on typing up the paperwork and have to retype it because of their mistake he charges another fee to the estate, stay away from this lawyer, he will rob your estate blind and still want more, you're a sorry lawyer I would really like put in this review how sorry you are and really use the words I feel inside but it's has sensor for bad language.

Very helpful

They helped me with a difficult case. The outcome wasn't as good as I hoped though. The good guys don't always win.

Very, very, very poor customer relations. I hired them in February 2018, and paid them a higher than usual retainer. The attorney burned her way through it reviewing the case, then abruptly resigned from the firm. The firm reassigned the case to another attorney who appeared disinterested in the case and didn't provide any guidance or instruction to me. When the judge requested the status of the case and was informed of the inaction of all the attorneys involved, she abruptly terminated my contract, abandoning me without counsel with a pending court hearing and a pending mediation date, falsely claiming that I hadn't followed her explicit instructions not to communicate with anyone, which never was communicated to me by her or anyone in the firm either via telephone, email, or US mail. When I appealed to the managing partners, they referred me to their legal representative, who, contrary to what other attorneys reported to me, claimed they were under no obligation to represent me until such time I was able to retain new counsel. I have requested my file and return of my retainer, or an idea when I may expect it, which I have to have before hiring new counsel. They haven't responded to my request.
