I injured my back on the job back in Nov '20 and ended up at Kaiser Occ. Med, who assigned a MD to assess me, who's main concerned (in my opinion) was to minimized my treatment cost. I wanted a MRI bc I believed I had a slip disc and the MD refused claiming I did not meet the requirements for a MRI. He said it was my heart, then reflux, me making up stuff, etc... I have been in the medical field since 1975-33 yrs in trauma surgery including open hearts as a CORT / 1st. assistant and now a RN for 16 yrs., so he could not fool me. After the 3rd visit I demanded a MRI, or I would retained a lawyer. The MD got me my MRI and I was right, there where several thoracic spine levels w slipped disc. They got me a second, third and finally a fourth opinion form IN network MD's.
