2001 - Present

Successfully invoked Utilization Review Provisions under Section 8.7 of the Illinois Workers' Compensation Act as amended in 2005 to significantly reduce chiropractic charges from more than $21,000.00 to less than $5,000.00 where an expert reviewer testified live at trial providing detailed evidence of the system underlying U.R., including the standards governing the reasonableness and necessity of chiropractic charges.

Won case for client newspaper where cross-examination of petitioner revealed confusion as to date and mechanics of accident; inconsistencies regarding timely notice; and pretrial investigation disclosed contradictory histories and the likelihood that the petitioner's injury actually resulted from non work-related surgical procedures.

Won case for client newspaper where expert testimony and evidence of work environment showed worker's hearing loss did not arise out of or in the course of employment.

Won case for client car dealership on grounds that salesperson's injuries, suffered in automobile accident wherein other driver was killed, were unrelated to work duties. 

Won case on grounds that injured worker was not an employee of client contracting business where evidence demonstrated lack of control and other indicia of independent contractor status. 

Won case on grounds that heart attack was not causally connected to work for client contracting business based on expert medical opinion that worker's condition was significantly deteriorated and the Arbitrator's finding on the credibility of the respective experts. 

1990's

Won reversal of adverse trial finding upon appeal of workers claim for permanent disability resulting in Commission's determination for client textbook company that claimant had not timely filed application.

Won case in Appellate court for client installation business thus restoring Commission determination that injured worker was not entitled to wage differential (8(d)1) award after judge ruled to the contrary. 

Won case for client business where Arbitrator found worker's description of his accident at trial was inconsistent with versions in the medical histories. 

Won case for client financial exchange where medical evidence demonstrated worker's back condition was caused not by work but by degenerative processes. 

Won case for client business where Arbitrator found based upon medical expert that description of the accident set forth by worker inherently incredible relative to claimed injury. 

1980's

Won dismissal of plaintiff's injury suit alleging slip and fall against client building owner via successful summary judgment motion based upon lack of defect. 

Won reversal of adverse jury verdict upon appeal of claim by auction house for alleged mistakes in advertisement made by client yellow pages publisher. 

Won dismissal of claim against client computer manufacturer on grounds that plaintiff could not recover solely economic loss in tort. 

Won case for client bus manufacturer named as third party in death case when jury returned not guilty finding for defendant, bus purchaser, City Transportation System. 

Won directed finding for client exterminating business at conclusion of plaintiff home purchaser's evidence in bench trial involving alleged breach of warranty.
