Notable Work
Appellant: Attorney for the appelant, Evangelos Orfanos. Evangelos and his wife, Mary Orfanos owned buildings in Baltimore. The buildings were leased to Athenian Inc, which operated a restaurant at the location. A fire destroyed the restaurant and damaged the building. The appellants file suit against Athenian Inc alleging that the fire was caused by hazardous conditions and negligence both of which were a breach of the lease agreement. After a non-jury trial the court found no liability and the claim was dismissed. The Orfanos appealed on the complaint that the court had erred in their findings and conclusions. After review of the case and nee information and evidence from both the appellants and the appellees, the case was remanded for further proceedings.
