How did you build a successful practice?

The practice I oversee is a sacred trust and I treat it like that. I answer to the Highest Authority. I do not lie to clients and do my best to obtain the results they need. My reputation is my best advertisement. I believe there is no right way to do the wrong thing.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

A lawyer they can trust. Honesty, wisdom, knowledge, and one who is accountable not only to his or her clients but to the Highest Authority.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Local knowledge is critical to success in any case in which I represent a client. Louisiana is very different from any other state. A lawyer has to be able to talk to the ordinary citizen. A bankruptcy lawyer better be able to communicate effectively with someone who didn’t finish high school, the holder of a PhD, or a sophisticated creditor. He needs to have a basic understanding of people and see them as persons who are fearful and need help, not just clients.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

General advice about the need for relief under the Bankruptcy Code and some general advice about certain areas of civil law and life.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

That depends on the matter at hand. Generally, is the client a business, the location, who are the secured creditors, income, marital status, number of dependents, ands general background. If the client is a business I need to know several things about the business so it is best for the caller to have a good working knowledge about her or his business.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

My moral compass, allegiances, loyalties, and uncompromising devotion to Him.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Helping people, helping save businesses , helping creditors, deal with debt problems, heling them get their lives on track, helping people get free from the yoke of debt. I get pleasure helping businesses to continue operating and seeing jobs saved.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

I enjoy fishing, gardening, spending time with my wife, doing the things members of Gideons International do, playing with my grandchildren, and helping others.

Are you involved in your community?

Yes. I do not like to discuss the things I do to help others. Those acts speak for themselves. However, I will say I am a member of Gideons International.
