About Jacob
Jacob spent time in both law enforcement and the military before attending law school. Before graduating from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, he was President of the Student Chapter of the Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense lawyers, worked as a student investigator for the East Baton Rouge Public Defender's Office and was a judicial intern at the 19th Judicial District Courthouse.
He career has taken him across the state of Louisiana. Several of these have set legal precedents in the field of criminal law. These include State v. Crockett, State v. McQuarter, State v. DiGeralmo, and State v. Steele. He is currently the Treasurer of the Louisiana Associate of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I was proud of the work that our office did on the case(s) of Bridgette DiGerolamo and Donald Steele. Both cases were determined by strict interpretation of law, and I was pleased to lead our appellate teams to victory before the Supreme Court and the district court, resulting in a victory for both individuals.

A successful practice starts with dedicated individuals and dedicated leaders.

Clients should look for a lawyer that is going to fight for them no matter the cost.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Local knowledge is important, but knowing your case is more important.

We need to know the basic facts of a case, any upcoming deadlines, and where the case is located.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
Our firm is young and hungry, we are looking for clients to fight tooth and nail for.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Watching clients leave jail, knowing my team has contributed to their freedom.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
Representing attorneys in ODC proceedings.
Are you involved in your community?
Our firm contributes thousands of pro bono hours a year to assist individuals in our community. I have lived in Louisiana my entire life and I never plan to leave. My long-term plan includes expanding our services to provide income-based representation for the people in our community who can’t afford high-dollar criminal defense services.
