TUCKER V. UNITED STATES

Respondent: Attorney for the respondent, Forest Silva Tucker. Tucker was tried and convicted or an armed robbery of a bank in Berkley, California. He was sentenced to twenty-five years in prison. He filed a motion to vacated his sentence after fifteen years. He alleged that the evidence used to convict and sentence him was based on prior invalid convictions used during cross examination. The court concluded that the use of the constitutionals invalid prior convictions was an error. However, the deemed that this error was harmless and did not effect the outcome of the trial or the conviction. Therefor Tucker's petition for relief was denied.

ENRILE v SHENG HSIANG JEN FOODS

Attorney for the Plaintiff in a products liability wrongful death claim by estate and family of Michelle Enrile (11 year old child) who choked on a piece of Lychee Flavor Mini Gel Snack. In April 1999, Michelle Enrile ate a piece of this candy and was unable to breathe because it sealed her throat. Brain damage and a two year coman preceded her death. In 2001 The U.S. Food and Drug Administration banned the importation of gel candy. Plaintiffs alleged that the Gel Snacks were, defective and unsafe for their intended purpose in that they were defectively designed and marketed so that they were of such a size and composition that they presented an unacceptable risk of choking hazard. The outcome was a Plaintiffs' verdict for $16.7 million.
