Questions & Answers
Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
Our economically vulnerable client was being sexually harassed by her landlord as she worked to keep a roof over her head for her and her daughter. We were able to settle the case for a significant enough sum that the client was in a position to buy a home and bring stability to her family's life.
How did you build a successful practice?
By connecting with my clients and working to understand the human side of their cases.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
An attorney who is smart and willing to talk straight - to give a realistic assessment of what it means to work through the legal process, which presents unique challenges in the quest for justice.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
What is important is that the attorney understand the subject matter of the case; one of the most pleasurable things about being an attorney is getting to learn about different subjects, from how houses are built to how engines work; an attorney needs, first and foremost, to understand their case.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
I can provide an honest and realistic assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of the case.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
I need to know the who, what, where, and when of the case; we will learn the ""why"" as we go.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
I enjoy learning and pursue continued legal education as a pleasure; there is always more to know.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Being able to help people.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
Well, in 2020 I've got a heck of a garden going.
