Hawley Holman has practiced law in Texas and Arkansas in the area of litigation since 1977. His practice has included suits filed in counties throughout Northeast Texas and Southwest Arkansas. He has also been involved in numerous Federal Court cases in the Eastern District of Texas and the Western District of Arkansas. Hawley has argued cases before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans and the Eighth Circuit Courts of Appeals in St. Louis. He has handled a variety of cases, including automobile accidents, wrongful death, personal injury, nursing home abuse and neglect, defective products, fires and explosions, large truck accidents and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation issues, mass tort litigation, travel trailer accidents, brain injuries, pharmaceutical injuries, complex business litigation and class actions involving the accounting and insurance industry as well as numerous first party insurance claims. He has been involved and is currently involved in some of the largest class actions in the US. He is currently serving as court appointed Co-Liaison Defense Counsel in two class actions pending in Miller County, Arkansas: Hensley and Chivers. The Hensley class action involves more than 500 insurance carriers and Hawley represents more than 200 defendants in that case. The Chivers case involves more than 40 insurance carriers. He has served as counsel in another class action involving some of the largest accounting firms in the U.S.

Hawley has been Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1985 in both Personal Injury Trial Law and Civil Trial Law. He is a member of the Litigation, Appellate Law, Computer and Technology Law, Consumer Law, Health Law, Insurance Law, and Intellectual Property Law Sections of the State Bar of Texas; a member of the Health Law Section of the Arkansas Bar Association; a member of the American Bar Association (Tort and Insurance Practice and Litigation Sections); a member of the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association; a member of the American Association for Justice and as a member of that organization he belongs to the Business Torts Section, Family Law Section, Insurance Section, Products Liability Section, Nursing Home Litigation Group, Motor Vehicle Accident, Highway and Premises Liability Section, the Toxic Environmental and Pharmaceutical Torts Section, ERISA Litigation Group, Gas, Fire and Explosion Litigation Group, and Cox 2-Litigation Group). He has handled in thousands of claims on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury and complex, civil trial matters. He has taken thousands of depositions and more than five hundred Examinations Under Oath in connection with arson and fraud related claims. He is an active participant in Continuing Legal Educational courses some of which are listed below.

Hawley has extensive experience in many different types of motor vehicle accidents especially with respect to the trucking industry. For many years, he has been involved with, studied and attended seminars related to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, which govern the trucking industry. He has represented individuals involved in serious accidents against the trucking industry and has also been hired on numerous occasions by the trucking industry to defend claims filed against trucking companies and their drivers.

Hawley has spent more than 20 years handling numerous insurance related issues ranging from first party to third party claims as well as class actions against the insurance industry. He has also participated in litigation involving crash-worthiness issues related to automobiles. These are just some examples of the different types of litigation in which he has been involved for the past 25 plus years.

Hawley was named a TEXAS SUPER LAWYER for 2004 by Texas Monthly Magazine. In January 2004, 66,000 ballots were mailed to attorneys across Texas asking them to vote for the best lawyers they had personally observed in action. The nominees were submitted to a Blue Ribbon Panel who then selected the recipients of this award. Only the top 5% of Texas lawyers received this nomination. Hawley received this award in the field of General Personal Injury litigation.
