Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
Successful resolution of a young woman's claim of racial discrimination and hate crime victimization when nobody in the community would listen to her. Another case was the successful resolution of auto dealer consumer complaint when dealership persisted in denials and other lawyers refused to intervene
How did you build a successful practice?
Communication is key. Taking calls in real time, responding to emails day, night and weekends, speaking to your clients personally whenever possible. Clients want to hear from their attorney and not office staff.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Communication, collaborative attitude in working with client, time and attention, focus, diligence, persistence, willingness to share bad news as well as good.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Not much factually, but local knowledge of people/attitudes/influence is huge in early resolution of conflict.

A great listening ear, analysis of documents, qualified opinion about viability of claim or need for defense, estimate of time/costs.

Pertinent documents, candid discussion, names/dates/places.

Longevity in the practice locally, forty years of contracts and relationship, accessibility, and response time.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
The daily challenge of working through each client's unique legal issues. Clients who refer their friends and family for legal services.
