About James
JAMES CLINE was born in Sterling, Kansas and raised in Nickerson. Kansas. I graduated from Nickerson High School and attended Hutchinson Community College before graduating from the University of Kansas with a BA in 1986. I received my law degree from the University of Kansas in 1990 and have been licensed to practice in Kansas since 1990. I am also licensed to practice in the US District Court for the District of Kansas.
In law school I was a member of the International Mood Court Team, 1988 -- 1989. I was also a member of the National Moot Court Team in 1989. I am a member of the Wichita Bar Association and an Eagles member of the Kansas Association for Justice.
The first 10 years of my practice I worked mainly for insurance companies defending workers compensation and personal injury claims. For the last nine years of my practice, I have exclusively represented persons injured in workers compensation, motor vehicles accidents, dog bite injuries and slip and fall accidents. Before returning to solo practice, I was with a large plaintiff's firm. I left that firm so I could give more personal and individualized care to each client.
I grew up working in the farms and fields of Kansas before going to the University of Kansas where I worked in a major manufacturing plant to support my education. My blue-collar background allows me to personally understand the problems the working people of Kansas encounter when they are injured. When I was 11 years old, my older brother was killed in a car wreck giving me a personal insight to the difficulties associated with a traumatic loss.
I have tried cases throughout the State of Kansas in District Court as well as the United States District Court for the District of Kansas and in administrative hearings for workers compensation. My unique perspective as both a worker and as someone who has suffered a tragic loss allows me to personally assist each person who has been injured in an accident. I look forward to assisting you through this difficult time in your life.
