Lawyer.com Member Questionnaire

Please describe a case(s) in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I represented a defendant charged with murder 5 years after the incident. He was charged as a joint venturer. I had the cases severed for trial. After a week long trial, the jury found him not guilty in under 4 hours.

How did you build a successful practice?
I have built my practice on word of mouth and client referrals so far. I have been successful with that for a number of reasons: 1) I keep in regular contact with my clients, 2) I am available to my clients when they need me, and 3) I have a very good reputation in the courts and with my colleagues.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Aggressive representation, good communication with the client, and honesty and candor about the case and potential outcomes.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
It is very important that the client have an attorney familiar with the court in which the case is in and with the judges that are sitting in the court.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
I can cover pretty much everything in a phone consultation once I hear the facts of the case and the charges. I can give the client an excellent overview of the process that they are about to be thrust into and the different things that can and will happen along the way.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
The name of the client, the nature of the case/charges, the client's bail status, where the case is out of.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
My demeanor, reputation, experience, and work ethic. I have a reputation of being great to work with and an effective communicator with my clients. I keep them up to speed on their cases every step of the way. My reputation in the courts is excellent. I am known as a thorough, aggressive, prepared and credible attorney.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
I am often told by client's that they have never been treated so well and represented so thoroughly by an attorney. Having a client or family of client tell you they appreciate how hard I fought for them or their family member is the most rewarding part of my job.

What are your other interests in addition to law?
Sports - playing them, watching them, and coaching them - particularly baseball.

Are you involved in your community?
I coached sports in my community for over 15 years.
