About James

James E. Moore, Jr. is an experienced litigator with a focus in general casualty defense. Mr. Moore received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in 1984. Prior to beginning his law career, he worked with the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a national membership organization of state legislators located in Washington, DC. As ALEC's Director of Development, he handled fundraising and liaison functions between charitable foundations, business entities, and legislators from around the country. Mr. Moore returned to Louisiana and received his Juris Doctorate in 1992.

Before joining the firm in May 2000, he practiced extensively in the fields of maritime personal injury, admiralty, LHWCA, ERISA, ADA, ADEA, workers' compensation, medical malpractice, premises liability, CERCLA, and automotive casualty. Mr. Moore continues to practice trial and appellate litigation in the preceding fields, as well as in the fields of products liability, automotive redhibition and lemon law, nursing home litigation, employment law, municipal liability, native American law, and general insurance defense.

He is a member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, and the Defense Research Institute.

Mr. Moore has practiced before state courts of Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi.   He is licensed to practice before all Louisiana state and federal courts, Texas federal courts, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.  Mr. Moore is rated BV by Martindale Hubble, with no claims of malpractice or impropriety of practice.
