Harrington Law, PLC specializes in complex family law litigation. James J. Harrington III is a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and is the first Michigan attorney admitted to the National Board of Trial Advocacy - Family Law.  He has 40+ years legal experience, and been elected Chair of the Family Law Section and held every Officer position; he is Author & Editor of the brand new Michigan Family Law Practice publication by Lexis Nexis.  He has lectured or presented on family law issues on over 50 occasions.  He has testified in front of the Michigan Supreme Court and Michigan Legislature on Family Law issues.

He is a recognized expert on pre & post nuptial agreements. He has been retained as an expert witness on family law issues on multiple occasions.

While the majority of cases arise in the Metropolitan Detroit area, he has also litigated family law cases throughout Michigan and in the Upper Peninsula.
