Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

One case I worked on recently was a Motion to Dismiss a Court Case for Failure to State a Cause of Action that two other Attorneys had run up Substantial Fees on.

How did you build a successful practice?

I built a successful practice through Individual Personal Service with Reasonable Fees.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Clients should look for an Attorney with Experience in the Legal Area that they have. One with a Reasonable Fee, not Necessary the lowest fee.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

Local Knowledge is Important, but not necessarily the Most Important consideration, I have been successful in Solving the Problem at hand, not Just Running up hours.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

That depends on the Questions, some can be answered by phone, but In order to answer most questions I need a detailed description of the problem, just One Fact can make a big difference in the solution. I will usually give the First Meeting at No Cost. Then Give a Recommendation of the Next Course of Action and the Cost. I try, when possible to give a Fixed Fee, Rather than an Hourly Rate, with Unknown Number of Hours. That is where some Lawyers Run Up Hugh Fees.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

I need Enough Information to Properly Identify the Question, or Problem. That is Difficult, because the Caller may not Understand what is Important.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

One, I limit My Practice to the Areas that I have Extensive Experience and I Will Use a Fixed Fee when Possible and not use Hourly Rated. The Client Wants and Needs to Know What it will Cost to Solve Their Problem.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

I love to see my Clients Pleased with the Results of Working with Me.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

I work with Several Charitable Organizations Locally and Telamon Corporation as a Board Member. It is a National Organization Headquartered in Raleigh, N.C. We meet four times a year. There is a Local Office as well.

Are you involved in your community?

I am Involved with The Chamber of Commerce, The Veteran's Network, Park Seventh Day Adventist Church, Volunteer Lawyers, VFW (Life Member) American Legion and Three local Non-Profits as Attorney.
