About Jared

Founding partner Jared Woodfill is a dynamic courtroom talent with broad litigation experience. He has tried cases in state and federal courts throughout the country on behalf of numerous individuals and business clients. He is committed to fighting for his clients and to providing the best-possible representation throughout the litigation process. Woodfill has handled well over a thousand cases.  He has tried environmental law, family law, personal injury, condemnation, and business disputes in courts around the country.  He has also worked on numerous mass tort cases, including EIFS (Exterior Insulating Finishing System) cases, Hurricane Ike, Masonite Hardboard Siding, LP Inner Seal, dioxin exposure cases, creosote cases, and homeowners mold claims.  Additionally, he has handled numerous religious liberties cases, including a recent victory in the Texas Supreme Court in a case styled Pidgeon v. Parker. He and his team utilize cutting-edge technology as part of  trial strategies to obtain favorable results for the firm’s clients.

Woodfill is a 1990 graduate of the University of Texas and received his law degree from St. Mary’s University in 1993 where he was a cum lade graduate.  Woodfill also served on the St. Mary’s Law Journal as a Note and Comment Editor and won numerous mock trials while in law school.  He was awarded the Judge Jack Miller Trial advocacy award while in law school. He is active in Houston-area community issues and has served as chairman of the Houston-area Republican Party from 2002 through 2014.

 Woodfill is licensed to practice in Texas and New York state courts, as well as the District of Columbia Court of Appeals (Washington, DC),The United States Court of Federal Claims and U.S. District Courts for Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit.

Woodfill has published articles in the St. Mary’s Law Journal and Villanova Law Review.  He has also been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Los Angelas Times, Time Magazine, Texas Lawyer, Weekly Standard, Human Events, National Review and numerous other periodicals.  He has appeared on numerous television shows and radio stations.

In 2015, Woodfill was named Local Person of the year by Fox 26 Roundup.  In 2016 Woodfill was named one of Houston’s top lawyers by Houstonia Magazine.  He has also received the TRL Defender of Life Award, Texas Values’ Kelly Shackleford Award, San Jacinto Republican’s Patriot Award, and Vision America’s Local Hero of the Faith Award.
