Questions & Answers
Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
A client who has a disabled USC child was deported in 2014. While he was in Mexico, our firm was successful in reopening his case and had him paroled back into the U.S.; he was able to be with his family and continue his proceedings, where we will apply for relief.A client was convicted of multiple marijuana offenses and picked up by ICE and held to mandatory detention. Our office was successful in representing him in Court and coordinating with DHS for his release from detention. Currently, he has reunited with his USC fiancee as we are applying for his relief.
How did you build a successful practice?
No short cuts in building a successful practice, never lose sight of learning everyday, keep the passion going, and work hard for communities to build a strong reputation in successfully helping people and their loved ones.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Clients should always look for the proper credentials and not be afraid to ask an attorney of their past experiences with a similar case. Make sure the attorney is passionate and knowledgeable about their craft. Also, try to have an attorney who has a practice that deals exclusively, or at least mostly, with immigration.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
Local knowledge is very important to know your clientele and issues common within a community. Also, being locally accessible is very valuable in building a strong case.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
Potential options of any given situation, if any. Information about my firm and answers to questions a potential client may have.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
Full name, date of birth, court date, potential issue, location if someone is detained, and Alien #, if any.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
I am an exclusive immigration attorney who has been practicing for 5 years. My office is constantly studying the law, as immigration law is always evolving and changing. It is our passion to serve you.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
Getting a result.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
Criminal law because it can really impact an immigrant's rights and status.
Are you involved in your community?
Yes, I have been invited to and spoken at church events, am involved with AILA, and take on pro bono cases.
