I represented a disabled veteran with mental issues who went through several attorneys. Because he was difficult to work with his prior attorneys quit and he was unrepresented facing entry of default at permanent orders in a divorce case. I took on his case and had a guardian ad litem and special conservator appointed so that the Court would accurately know the parties' assets and liabilities and could equitably divide the marital property.

Clients should look for an attorney who is conscientious and has attention to details. Also, a client should want an attorney that gives an objective analysis about the strengths and weaknesses of their case. It does not assist the client to over promote his/her chances of success on the merits of the case to retain the client. Experience is an important qualification for any litigation attorney. And as in most things, rigorous preparation is critical to a successful representation. An attorney that is always well prepared is a good attorney.

In the past I served on the board of directors of the largest community association in Colorado. Prior to my service as a member of the board, I served on the rec advisory committee which made recommendations to the board and later served as the chairman of that committee. Previously I was a member of various local service clubs including Civitan, where I was president for a year, and Rotary. As a member of a Rotary Club, I devoted much time to introducing Rotary Clubs to high school students including organizing and managing Rotary sponsored student conferences and a student Interact Club.
