About Jennifer
Jennifer Salvatore handles litigation matters for Nacht & Associates, PC in the areas of employment, civil rights, and commercial litigation. She specializes in gender discrimination and sexual harassment work and represents a number of corporate clients, including many women-owned and minority-owned businesses in breach of contract and other commercial disputes. Jennifer also represents executives and other professionals in employment and contract disputes and does writing, consulting and training work around gender issues.
Jennifer graduated with honors from Miami University (Ohio) in 1994 with a B.A. in Political Science and Journalism. In 1997 she received her J.D., cum laude, from The University of Michigan Law School, where she was a finalist in the Campbell Moot Court Competition and an editor on the Journal of Gender & The Law and The Journal of Law Reform.
After law school, Jennifer worked in the litigation department at Jenner & Block, LLP in Chicago, where her practice focused on complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts for Fortune 500 companies. There, Jennifer also represented a wide range of clients on a pro bono basis, including political asylum seekers and charter schools.
From 1999 to 2001, Jennifer served as the first recipient of the Polikoff/Gautreaux fellowship for Public Interest Lawyers at Business & Professional People for the Public Interest, a nationally prominent law and policy center based in Chicago. Upon returning to Michigan in 2003, Jennifer worked at Kanji & Katzen, PLLC in Ann Arbor, where she represented Native American tribes in Federal and Tribal Courts before joining Nacht & Associates.
Jennifer has served as the President of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan (Washtenaw County) and is currently the Chair of the Gender Equity Committee for WLAM, statewide. In that role, she is working on legislative initiatives around gender equity issues. In 2009, she was named a Michigan Rising Star by Michigan Super Lawyers and received the Mary Foster Award for leadership in the profession from WLAM. Jennifer has served on the Board of Directors of the Women's Center of Southeastern Michigan and is a Fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation. She has received the Ann Dee Harper Memorial Award from the Midwest Immigrant and Human Rights Center in Chicago. She has lectured at Miami University, the University of Michigan, and in the trial advocacy program at the University of Chicago Law School. She is a member of the Bars of the states of Michigan and Illinois, the 6th and 7th Circuit Courts of Appeal, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan and the Northern District of Illinois.
Jennifer lives in South Lyon with her husband, Joe, and two children, Lucie and Charlie.
