About Joanna
Ms. Boyd was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from Georgia State University where she studied the Legal Issues Track in Criminal Justice and Sociology. She then attended Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School where she was an active member of Georgia Association of Women Lawyers (GAWL), the Student Bar Association (SBA), Criminal Law Society, Black Law Student Association (BLSA) and Family Law Society.
Ms. Boyd is a skilled public speaker. Her speaking experience combined with her mediation training (approved by the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution) has proven advantageous in negotiations and courtroom appearances.
Ms. Boyd has worked as a full-time family law paralegal for a number of metro-Atlanta law firms – earning nearly five (5) years of practicing family law experience before becoming an attorney. She has familiarity with divorce, alimony, child custody, child support, equitable division of assets, legitimations, paternity, modification, contempt, and family violence cases.
As a mother, Ms. Boyd advocates for clients pursuing a result that is in the best interest of their child(ren). Outside of the courtroom, she is devoted to establishing the best life imaginable for her little one using the same advice she gives.
