About Joel

Joel I. Fishbein is a 1989 graduate of the Temple University School of Law where he was a Note/Comment Editor for the Temple Law Review.  His article "Industry Custom Evidence: Its Relevance in Products Liability Cases" was published in the Temple Law Review.  While in law school, Mr. Fishbein was honored for his distinguished classroom performance in Criminal Law and Employment Law.  He received his undergraduate degree in accounting from Penn State University in 1986.  Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Fishbein clerked for the Honorable Frank J. Montemuro of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.  He joined the law firm of Silverman & Krawitz as a partner in June 2007.  Mr. Fishbein has tried dozens of trials and arbitrations and has extensive appellate experience in the state and federal courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey where he is licensed.  He has represented numerous clients in matters that have resulted in settlements or verdicts exceeding a million dollars.  His trial experience includes litigation of bodily injury claims, including a substantial number of cases involving medical negligence.  Mr. Fishbein has also represented businesses and business owners in commercial litigation mattes in state and federal courts.  These matters have included business disputes involving executive compensation and covenants not to compete; shareholders litigation on behalf of frozen out shareholders, defamation and tortious interference, and breach of contract cases; and NASD arbitration claims relating to unsuitable investments, churned accounts or fraud.  Mr. Fishbein was honored by the Philadelphia Business Journal as a "Forty (Philadelphians to Watch) Under 40".  His involvement in professional organizations is long standing.  He served as chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association Young Lawyers Division; was a member of the Steering Committee of the Young Lawyers Division Attorney Mentoring Program, a service project he helped to develop; and was a member of the Board of Governors of the Philadelphia Bar Association.  he was a member of the American Inns of Court and a trustee of the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation.
