John “Terry” Brennan has represented clients in the courts for over twenty-five years. He has practiced with firms ranging from a large international law firm (Baker Botts) representing Fortune 500 companies to a solo practice representing individuals. With this wide-ranging experience, he is able to help clients appreciate the strengths and weaknesses of their legal position, the likelihood of prevailing at trial, opportunities and obstacles on the way to trial, and strategies to resolve disputes. As there is no substitute for knowing the law, Mr. Brennan attends seminars, participates in professional organizations, follows legal discussion group listserves, and performs first-hand legal research to strengthen his grip on nuances and developments in the law. Mr. Brennan is comfortable taking cases to trial. He takes a scholarly, yet accessible approach to encourage the court and jury to appreciate and share his client’s point of view based on effective presentation of the evidence and testimony culminating in argument based on common sense reasoning. He enjoys technology and is continually looking for innovative ways to leverage emerging technology to improve client service and advocacy.

Mr. Brennan’s trial experience includes representing both plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial cases, employment matters, intellectual property (trade secret, patent, trademark) and unfair competition disputes, franchise law, professional (legal, real estate) negligence cases, real estate (title, boundary, contract, construction) litigation, commercial collections, government contracts, and personal injury, to name a few.

Hourly fees are normal practice. Contingent fees and alternative billing arrangements are considered on a case-by-case basis.
