About John

When I was a teenager, a friends’ fathers told me I should be an attorney.  We were eating pizza at Cardona’s in Brighton when he said this (a restaurant that has long-since closed). I have no idea why he made this comment. Apparently he knew something I didn’t.

And I thought teenagers knew everything.

Law school came after college, which came after almost four years in the Army.

People sometimes wonder what attorneys do. My answer is that we help people solve problems. How we do that varies; sometimes that means preparing documents in the office; other times it means filing a lawsuit and taking a case to trial. Sometimes it means taking a case to the Court of Appeals or even the Supreme Court.

While there definitely is a time and place for a trial and old-fashioned argument many times good results are obtained by being persistent and knowing what you’re doing.

By that I mean the combination of knowing an area of law (and how to maneuver the legal system) and being able to ride out the ups and downs of a case can go a long way.

Helping people is a good way to make a living and I am very fortunate to be able to do so.
