Since law school, John has focused his practice on personal injury and workers compensation cases. John has tried over 25 jury trials in courts all over southwest Missouri, including jury trials in Lawrence, Barry, Jasper, Barton, Taney, Polk, McDonald, Stone, and Greene Counties. John has also served in several roles for the Missouri Bar, including as former chair of the Mo Bar Young Lawyer’s Section, former chair of the Mo Bar CLE committee, and since 2000 John has served as a law examiner where he grades essay questions on the Missouri bar exam.
John and his wife Lynne, who teaches English at Mount Vernon High School, have lived in Mount Vernon since 1988 where they have raised five children. John enjoys his limited culinary skills (specializing in popping real popcorn and making scratch biscuits) and is passionate about Missouri football (he has been a season-ticket holder since 1978). John's greatest love is his Lord Jesus Christ and John greatly enjoys Bible study and preaching the Gospel whenever anybody asks.
