Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

My client was charged with Felony Possession of a Firearm After Former Felony Conviction; Felony Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number; Driving While Suspended; Fail to Have Insurance & Transport an Open Container. Through negotiations with the DA's Office, I was able to get both of the felony firearms offenses dismissed as well as the driving without insurance dismissed and my client received a 6 month probationary period for the misdemeanors of Driving While Suspended and Transporting an open container offenses.

How did you build a successful practice?

I've built my own successful practice by always being available to serve my clients, return phone calls/emails/texts, and working tirelessly to obtain the best outcome for my client in each case I handle.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Clients should look for an attorney who is knowledgeable, caring, dedicated, aggressive and responsive to the needs of each individual client. Someone who treats each client as a separate person, not just a case number.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

While local knowledge in a particular jurisdiction is definitely a plus to have, I don't believe it is essential to the handling of a criminal case. Good lawyering and years of experience outweigh any "hometown advantage" that may be perceived.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

All of my consultations are free consultations whether it be by phone or in person. I prefer to conduct my consultations in person but either way an initial consultation is an opportunity to learn all I can about my potential client, the charges they face, their lifestyle, the facts of their case and likely outcomes or strategies that we can expect in the handling of the matter.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

What is needed in an initial consultation is biographical information from the potential client, facts of the case, the charges they face and any prior record they may have.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

I pride myself on personally handling each and every case that comes to my firm. I do not pass cases off to other lawyers to handle. If you hire me, you will get personalized, responsive caring representation that you expect from a boutique law firm without the boutique law firm price.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

The most rewarding aspect of my job is helping people who find themselves in a difficult place in their life. Most of my clients are not bad people/career criminals. Most clients are good people who find themselves in a tough spot in their life and they made a mistake or they suffer from a substance abuse or mental health issue. It is rewarding to help them to get through their tough time and move forward to better themselves.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

I enjoy spending time with my family, golfing, exercising, playing and listening to music.

Are you involved in your community?

My wife and I are very involved in our community. We are part of our neighborhood association and volunteer our time to assist in making our city a better place to live for everyone.
