About John

John P. Kelley is managing partner of the firm. He was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 1956 and after graduation from Loyola University School of Law in 1958 was admitted to the Illinois Bar that same year.

After six years in public accounting, including four years preparing and reviewing tax returns with Touche, Niven, Bailey & Smart, predecessor of Deloite Touche & Co., he began practicing law in 1958 with offices both in Chicago and the northwest suburbs.

Owing to his previous contacts and employment, he received referrals from other CPAs and attorneys who were aware of his professional competency and integrity. He has represented and still represents many other attorneys and other professionals who recognize his professionalism.

In the first years of his practice Mr. Kelley represented many of the early settlers in the Hoffman Estates/Schaumburg area in all areas of the law and served as Hoffman Estates Village Prosecutor from 1964 through 1971. However, in recent years he has concentrated his efforts in commercial transactions, estate planning and federal taxation.

His professional and civic memberships include the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, Northwest Suburban Bar Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Northwest Suburban Estate Planning Council. John Kelley is also a member of the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Economic Club of Chicago, American Legion, Stewart Club and the Schaumburg Township Democratic Organization. In 1984 he was admitted to practice law in the State of Florida.

In more than three decades of legal practice, John Kelley has fostered long-term relationships with corporate and individual clients. He has closely guided the growth of the firm.
